In any business, whether manufacturing or service work on the robustness of their process, product, variability reduction, and problem-solving as four of our primary duties in any company, and it′s very important to know tools and techniques and the correct procedure to use them as well.
Dorian Shainin made notable contributions during World War II in the fields of industrial problem solving, product reliability, and quality engineering, particularly in the creation and development of the "Red X ?" concept.
Red X ?methodology is based on a key assumption that there is always a prevailing cause of variation, that must be reduced or eliminated using a Pareto principle. These variation inputs are categorized by color: red, pink, pale pink, etc. In another hand, the desired output is called Green Y.
One of the tools used is examining extremes and trying to identify the root cause. Best of the Best (BOB) versus the Worst of the Worst (WOW).
