Anonymous and Unknown... Why? LinkedIn needs to change!
Social media has become a phenomenal tool to use in today's way of doing business. But a common trend that I have noticed is that many users on outlets like Linkedin hide behind privacy constraints to make themselves Anonymous. My problem with this is that I want people to view my Linkedin profile who have a spine. This this is the same thing as today's sales people calling from unknown numbers or blocked lines. I may come from a dying breed, but I believe that this form of privacy is allowing a person to anonymously stalk another person everyday without showing any knowledge. What happened to ruthless business people only survive? This mentality is not dead, we as a society have let too many people succeed by hiding and acting like snakes to create their business. However; stronger businesses are built by being open and honest with who you are prospecting or researching. So what is the point? We have to stop this madness or more and more people will continue to feel deceived on a daily basis. If you consider yourself a professional, grow the backbone we once had in business society and bring honesty and ruthlessness back. Outlets like Linkedin need to make a setting that "does not allow anonymous users to view my profile" if I do not want them.

9 年Well stated Alex! I come from the old school of developing relationships based on a value proposition that genuinely saves or makes a company money. It's about working hard and communicating your offering in a tactful savvy manner! There should be no smoke and mirrors in the process.

9 年I agree! At least give those of us that pay for LinkedIn premium to block anonymous viewers.
