Ano Internacional das Cooperativas 2025

Esta é uma mensagem de feliz ano novo, só que muito mais legal.

Desta vez, a ONU escolheu 2025 como Ano Internacional das Cooperativas.

Confesso que tenho pequenino conhecimento sobre o assunto, e o barato de dar nome a um ano talvez seja exatamente esse: provocar para que você conhe?a mais sobre o tema.

De qualquer maneira, há muito já vejo a competi??o como uma filosofia que pertence a esportes e jogos. Há muito que já vejo o mondo n?o como um campo de batalha, mas um campo de germina??o, de plantio e colheita, de COOPERA??O.

Já nos maltratamos demais competindo. Já vimos pra onde isso leva e a coopera??o, a ajuda mútua, sem coitadismo, ainda pouco sabemos pra onde pode nos levar.

Sem positivismo tóxico, pode ser uma nova forma de caminhar daqui pra frente, onde concorrentes se tornam companheiros de jornada e impulsionadores de um novo patamar.

Eu nunca mais esque?o de uma li??o sobre isso quando minha família tinha uma pequena cafeteria no bairro do Itaim, a Tabapu? Café. Entre 1998 e 2000, muito antes da Starbucks chegar ao Brasil, servimos cafés e fizemos amigos, aprendemos e testamos, ganhamos dinheiro e nos cansamos, até que esse ciclo chegou ao fim, e penso que valeu a jornada.

Nessa época, num belo dia, conversando com um proprietário de restaurante da mesma rua, eu questionei o que ele pensava sobre novos restaurantes sendo abertos bem próximos a ele. Juro que esperava uma resposta do tipo 'vamos acabar com eles', mas n?o. Don Ramón (nome fictício do cara, porque eu n?o lembro. Quem pegou a referência, pegou.kkk) comentou que era bom novos entrantes no mercado, pois a regi?o poderia se tornar uma espécie de pólo de atra??o de clientes, que escolheriam almo?ar onde quisessem. O fluxo era mais importante do que a real concorrência.

Essa vis?o de coopera??o me marcou para sempre.

N?o acompanhei de perto pra perceber se ela se ampliou, fazendo com que vários restaurantes comprassem de forma coletiva seus insumos, diminuindo pre?os por exemplo, mas uma filosofia predatória n?o cabia mais ali. Ao menos na cabe?a de Don Ramón.

Esse ano eu vou procurar entender melhor o assunto e ver se faz sentido para minha vida, meus negócios e meu consumo.

A competi??o eu deixo pros outros.

International Year of Cooperatives 2025

This is a happy new year message, but much cooler.

This time, UN has chosen 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives.

I confess that I have very little knowledge on the subject, and the fun of naming a year is perhaps exactly that: to encourage you to learn more about the topic.

In any case, I have long seen competition as a philosophy that belongs to sports and games. I have long seen the world not as a battlefield, but as a field of germination, of planting and harvesting, of COOPERATION.

We have already mistreated ourselves too much by competing. We have already seen where this leads, and cooperation, mutual help, without victim mentality, we still don't know where it can take us.

Without toxic positivity, it can be a new way of moving forward, where competitors become companions on the journey and drivers of a new level.

I will never forget a lesson about this when my family had a small coffee shop in the Itaim neighborhood, the Tabapu? Café. Between 1998 and 2000, long before Starbucks arrived in Brazil, we served coffee and made friends, learned and tested, made money and got tired, until this cycle came to an end, and I think it was worth the journey.

At that time, one fine day, talking to a restaurant owner on the same street, I asked him what he thought about new restaurants opening very close to his. I swear I expected an answer along the lines of 'let's get rid of them', but no. Don Ramón (the guy's fictitious name, because I don't remember. Whoever got the reference, got it. LOL) commented that it was good to have new entrants in the market, because the region could become a kind of hub for attracting customers, who would choose to have lunch wherever they wanted. The flow was more important than the real competition.

This vision of cooperation marked me forever.

I didn't follow it closely enough to see if it expanded, causing several restaurants to collectively buy their ingredients, reducing prices, for example, but a predatory philosophy no longer fit there. At least in Don Ramón's mind.

This year I'm going to try to understand the subject better and see if it makes sense for my life, my business, and my consumption.

I'll leave the competition to others.
