Penn State Behrend’s Trash to Treasure sale is almost here! Every year, this initiative organized by Penn State Behrend Athletics and the Behrend Office of Sustainability, aims to inspire students to think eco-friendly and keep good-quality, usable items out of landfills.
As students move out of their on-campus housing, they can donate unwanted items to the Trash to Treasure sale. Frugal shoppers can stop by the sale to check out a range of bargain-priced items, including furniture, clothing, cleaning supplies, electronics, athletic equipment, rugs, light fixtures and appliances.?
The sale does more than just keep usable items out of landfills. All proceeds from the sale are donated to United Way of Erie County. Shoppers score great deals and give back to the community at the same time!?
The sale is taking place on Saturday, May 11 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Junker Center. Early admission between opening and 9 a.m. is $5 per person. Free admission is offered from 9 a.m. until the sale’s end. From 11 a.m. to noon, shoppers can fill a bag for $5. Both students and community members are welcome to donate to the sale—check out the list of accepted items here.
