Today, in America’s public schools...
What’s Possible In Our Public Schools
When we commit to a systemic, integrated approach to meet the needs of all students
For students to thrive, schools must connect them, their families, and teachers to the resources and supports necessary for them to achieve success. Making those connections is too often beyond the ability of many public schools. Communities In Schools? (CIS?) exists to make those connections on their behalf.
When schools implement the CIS model of integrated student supports (ISS), they join our network of nearly 8,000 community organizations, granting them access to the resources and the capacity necessary to ensure every student can overcome obstacles on their path to success.
We hope the stories and data insights in this year’s report inspire you in our collective work to fulfill the promise of public education in America and reinforce a commitment to a systemic, integrated approach to meet the needs of ALL students.
We look forward to keeping you connected to our work!

Safety is also another clear problem, I recently talked to a student from a local school. It was a good day because there wasn't a fight. Everyday in her school there was a fight. This is not an environment conducive to learning and success.
