Welcome back to our monthly rendezvous! Breaking headlines in May, we launched a sustainability initiative that not only set a Guinness World Records title but more importantly, will bring light to homes in energy-scarce villages internationally.

It was also a month of continued business momentum - a milestone showroom launch in Riyadh becoming the centerpiece of our international e-mobility expansion plans as well as our exclusive motorsport driver development programme hitting new strides.

Celebrating A World Record In Sustainability & Community Impact

Al-Futtaim Group created history last month by setting a new Guinness World Records title for the Largest Solar Power Light Bulb Display.

A united force for change, the initiative was steered by multiple divisions working together, including Automotive, Real Estate, Education Foundation and Retail.

In the presence of important dignitaries including H.E. Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, the Philippines Ambassador to the UAE, we lit up Dubai Festival City Mall with 3,000 solar lanterns, creating a stunning display in the shape of the UAE's National Tree, the Ghaf Tree.

The initiative goes beyond record-breaking numbers as all the 3,000 solar lights are being donated to villages with limited or no access to electricity within the Philippines.

Opening Doors To First Al-Futtaim BYD Showroom In Riyadh

Last month we celebrated the official opening of the first BYD Showroom & Discovery Center in Saudi Arabia, located in Al Ghadeer District of Riyadh.

In the presence of 200+ high-profile attendees, the new showroom was inaugurated by the Vice-Chairman and CEO, Omar Al Futtaim, and represents the first of many showrooms planned for Saudi Arabia.

We remain committed to investing in the region's economic transformation, specifically in KSA where we have plans to widen our network to 13 facilities by the end of 2024, and boost our team strength to nearly 1,000 employees by 2030.

Season Two Of Toyota Motorsport Academy Roars Into Action

Al-Futtaim Toyota's driver development programme has hit the ground running for its second season. From a pool of 1,500 applicants, top 32 drivers have been chosen to progress to the Qualifications stage.

With 23 male and 9 female drivers representing 16 different nationalities, this diverse group is poised to showcase the best of UAE's motorsport talent.

In this season, we also put the UAE's media into the driver's seat at the exclusive Media Day. 15 automotive journalists and influencers had an exclusive, first-hand experience of the thrill-filled competition.

Auto Centers Becomes The UAE's First Multi-brand Network To Launch Electric & Hybrid Service

In another landmark first, Al-Futtaim Auto Centers has become the country's first multi-brand aftersales network to offer specialized services for new energy vehicles (NEVs).

These state-of-the-art facilities play an integral role in the sustainable mobility ecosystem of the UAE, transforming Auto Centers into comprehensive hubs for modern mobility needs.

With EV technicians trained at our IMI-certified E-Mobility Training Center, and extended operating hours, our commitment goes beyond service it's about empowering car-owners and fleet operators to confidently embrace the future of transportation.

Hertz & Automall Partner To Support UAE Motorists Impacted By Floods

In response to the recent floods, Automall and Hertz teamed up to launch a new service that ensures uninterrupted mobility for affected motorists.

As per the initiative, we will cover the car rentals for customers up to a max value of AED 2,000, when they purchase a pre-owned car from Automall. This helps in ensuring that our pre-owned customers can get back on-road without any delays.
