Announcing a new SOLIDWORKS reseller!

When we formed our company, Design & Process, in late 2021, North America had many well-established Dassault SOLIDWORKS resellers. Given that, it seems counterintuitive to start yet another reseller organization. So why did we decide to begin Design and Process, and why that name?

First, a couple of definitions:

Design:?(noun) a plan or drawing produced to demonstrate the look and function or workings of a product or other object before it is built or produced

Process:?(noun) a series of actions or steps taken to achieve a particular end?

At Design and Process, we believe most U.S. manufacturing and defense engineering organizations are missing critical information technology infrastructure between their design engineering departments and the rest of the organization.?

Working with organizations during the dot-com craze, I was fond of saying, "Most organizations can't communicate with the next cubicle; now every organization wants to make a website to provide clients information that the rest of the organization can't get?" At the time, this idea seemed ludicrous, and today it still does.

The most disseminated information in every design engineering organization comes from the engineering department, not accounting. This information gets disseminated to investors, program managers, procurement, accounting, prototyping, manufacturing, suppliers, marketing, sales, shipping, packaging, parts supply, maintenance, end users or warfighters, and disposal.

We believe that secure, authoritative revision control of engineering design data is crucial to every successful design organization. Furthermore, in today's "Internet of Things," it is vital to provide processes for synced revision control of mechanical designs, bill of materials, electrical/electronic schematics, software releases, CNC code, marketing data, and end-user documentation. This information is often called a "Digital Twin" or "as-built."

Current SOLIDWORKS engineering software resellers are excellent at training engineers on utilizing the software and providing end-user services. However, few can deliver design engineering standardization, installation on secure or hardened systems, integration with other information technology, or develop repeatable processes ensuring continuity during disruption or new revision roll-outs.?

We are experts in engineering design systems and big-data system processes. Design & Process provides the knowledge to ensure all organizational stakeholders remain in the loop.
