Announcing the new QLD Biz Apps User Group!

Dear QLDers

Let me start by saying a big thank you to all of you for the support and love you've shown to our local community in the past year.

2020 was a tough year for all of us but you still managed to attend the events we organised and trust me that motivates us to keep going. Let me go back in time and provide you a brief history of how it all started for me.

August 2019

It was August 2019 when I reactivated a User Group called 'Brisbane Power Apps and Power Automate'. I basically wanted to start a new user group but I was informed that there already exists one. When I looked into it, it was dead for about 11 months and hence the reactivation. You participated and made that group a huge success and that motivated me to start user groups in different parts of Queensland.

November 2019

That's when (November 2019) Ross Guthrie and I decided to start 'Gold Coast Dynamics 365 and Power Platform User Group'. I will be honest, It wasn't me but Ross who did everything to make it a success. Zuleika van Dieren volunteered to take the #GCUG to next level.

December 2019

Nominations were going on for the position of Chapter Lead at Brisbane Dynamics 365 User Group. Somehow, I was nominated for it. At this stage, I did feel a bit pressured but I said to myself that if the community supports me, I will be able to do it. And so with guidance from Neil Benson I accepted the role.

2020

We did not manage to fit in a customer story in 2020 but we did create a great team with awesome people in it. Andrew Rogers did something which was never tried before, the LinkedIn company pages for the User Groups and we got so many of you following the pages. To be honest, our MSFTMate (Andrew Rogers) is a creative person; Andrew launched another campaign #WeAreWatchingYou which was awesome.

We conducted over 36 events for the following four groups:

1. Brisbane Dynamics 365 User Group
2. Brisbane Power Apps and Power Automate User Group
3. Gold Coast Dynamics 365 and Power Platform User Group
4. Brisbane Power Platform Happy Hour

New Beginnings! 2021

We took your feedback seriously and we worked on a model which can make our events more engaging and are not conducted on every Thursday of the month. So, thank you for being honest with us and sharing your opinion.

We are glad to announce 'QLD Biz Apps User Group'. Yes, we have merged all the Brisbane and Gold Coast groups to one. We will be organising one event per month for Brisbane and one event every two months for Gold Coast. #QBAUG will focus on the following applications under Microsoft Business Applications:

• Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Power Apps
• Power Automate
• Power Virtual Agents
