Announcing my Bold Decision at the end of 2024 and Merry Christmas

As 2024 comes to a close, I've made a bold decision: I'm accepting an offer to pursue my master's degree in the United States. After years of experience in the ODM/OEM?industry which took me to several countries and introduced me to many wonderful people, I'm choosing to make a radical shift, leaving behind a stable life I've built, including an apartment?I invested in, knowing its value might dip. There are many unceratitnies and odubts in my mind. The global economy isn't thriving, the job market is tough, and the international student experience in the US isn't getting simpler. Many signs point towards giving up, especially for someone like me making such a dramatic change.

?

However, I've decided firmly to standby my decision. I know the path ahead won't be easy. Stepping into the booming AI industry, a field dominated young academic folks, might leave me feeling out of my depth, "bruised and battered." Yet, I'm eager to see more of the world, to learn from brilliant minds and their ways of approaching challenges. I believe I can still dream and live passionately, no matter where I am on life's journey.

?

This year, my grandmother passed away, a poignant reminder of life's fragility. I think of her often, her voice still plays in my dreams. Death feels both distant and near. Like the quote from The Bucket List says, I can't keep waiting for the perfect conditions to pursue what I've always wanted because tomorrow is never guaranteed. This is our one journey. We enter the world with nothing, and everything we accumulate will eventually return to nothing. I remember sitting by the Ganges in India, witnessing cremations and the dispersal of ashes – a destiny for us all.

?

I believe our decisions shape our destiny. Life is a mix of joys and sorrows, gains and losses. To embrace my dreams, I'm learning to let go and accept the uncertainties of the future. I want to live a life without regrets. Even if the outcome isn't what I hope for, I want to be able to look back and say, "Thank you for bravely chasing your dreams, for allowing me to live such a rich and colorful life. I accept it all, the good and the bad, because I truly gave it my best."

?

Reading "Educated" deeply inspired me. Tara's story showed me how education can rebuild someone. It's a fundamental way to overcome obstacles. Her journey of self-discovery and breaking free resonates with me as I embark on this unconventional path. By embracing education and seeing the world, my perspectives are shifting. Things that once seemed impossibly difficult are losing their significance.

?

The stories of Maye Musk and Sheryl Sandberg have profoundly impacted me as a woman navigating societal expectations. They are powerful examples of women who have carved their own paths. I believe I must first be true to myself. I want to inspire through my actions, demonstrating a life lived vibrantly and intentionally, not just according to prescribed roles. Actions speak louder than words. As Maye Musk says, the best education is to see you striving to become a better version of yourself.

?

I've always admired Elon Musk, but reading Maye's book revealed her as the driving force. Her willingness to move and start over, embracing new challenges, deeply resonates with me as I contemplate this major life change. She believes that when it's time to move forward, you must take the risk. Give yourself time to adapt, but don't hold back simply because of external factors. Don't let anything stop you. Face life's challenges head-on. "Take action first," she says.

?

Travel, books, and movies help me find answers in difficult times, but ultimately, my journey is my own. Like Tara says, we each have our own mountain to climb, and as a woman embracing this radical change, I'm determined to soar towards mine.

?

Finally, I want to thank all the friends who have patiently read this far without finding me annoying. Thank you for your concern, for the support and help you have given me, and for your reminders, guidance, and encouragement. It is a precious gift to have people who are willing to stop and share sincerely with you. Thank you to everyone who has given me opportunities, who has been willing to meet with me, and then become friends. I am grateful for your presence in my life and hope that we can stay in touch, no matter where I am.
