Announcing the first book on the business drivers for causal AI

I am pleased to announce that my latest book, co-authored with John Thompson (global head of artificial intelligence at EY) -- Causal Artificial Intelligence: The Next Step in Effective Business AI. After months of research, speaking with the leading luminaries in the field, the book will be released in the end of September. All of the books I have co-authored have focused on explaining complex emerging technologies to business leaders. As a consultant and thought leader, it has been clear to me over the decades that management teams will not buy technology if they don't understand the benefits of these offerings in solving problems. Buying technology is based on both evaluating the product itself and ensuring that the buyer has made a decision that benefits the company and enhance the reputation of the decision makers.?

This book may be the first book that focuses on explaining causal AI to non-data scientists.?It was not an easy task.?Causal AI is a difficult topic.?Why this topic? One of the differences between causal AI and other emerging technologies is that the technical underpinnings of causal AI, commonly known as causal inference has deep technical underpinnings.?Thanks to the groundbreaking work on Dr. Judea Pearl and many other AI leaders, the field has flourished – primarily in the academic community.?To greatly simplify the foundation of this technology – the goal is to answer the critical question of why situations occur and what we can do to change things.?For example, is there a relationship between smoking and lung cancer? Why do people who smoke have a greater likelihood of getting the disease??Now, you might say, of course we know the answer.?However, in the 1950s, there was a serious debate about whether there was a link between smoking and illness.?Being able to create a tools and services that can be used to explain why a situation occurs is beginning to gain the attention of business leaders across industries ranging from manufacturing to infrastructure management and agriculture and many more.?

?

The goal for writing this book is to take this important groundbreaking technology and explain it to the business community.?I look forward to an ongoing dialog on this important topic. How can you help? Report this article and if you are willing, pre-order the book https://tinyurl.com/2hwfnd8t
