Announcing Daniel Goleman Emotional Intelligence Courses

More than technical experience, IQ, or even postgraduate degrees, emotional intelligence (EI) has become one of the most sought after skill sets in today’s job market. It’s what distinguishes top performers and outstanding leaders.

?I recently saw an article in the Harvard Business Review analyzing 5,000 postings for managerial and executive positions. Over the last two decades, they found, job descriptions mention “soft skills” far more than “hard skills” – and this trend gains strength as time goes on. Leaders need to be good with people.

?And emotional intelligence — self-awareness, managing yourself, empathy and social effectiveness — covers all the major soft skills. Even as tech advances, the HBR article says, these emotional intelligence skills will make the differene between companies that thrive and those that disappear.

?The good news: EI is entirely learnable.

You can learn, strengthen, and apply your EI skills to get the results you want — for your current role or your next job.

That’s why I’m pleased to announce the launch of Daniel Goleman Emotional Intelligence Courses, a series of facilitated online sessions that will guide you through your personal journey to enhancing your emotional intelligence.

?These courses — which will launch on my partner Key Step Media’s new learning platform — will enable you to cultivate the 12 emotional intelligence competencies in my EI model, which are essential for developing your best self, becoming an outstanding leader, and building high-performance teams.

?Enrollment is officially open and spots are limited.

The first cohort starts September 19. The two upcoming courses, Foundational Skills and Relational Skills of EI, are each six weeks long.

?As part of an engaged cohort and led by a trained facilitator, you can join a community of peers and experts while learning the science behind each core competency, why they matter, and how to apply them to positively differentiate yourself, build deeper relationships, and pave a path toward fundamental transformation.

?The EI skills included in the Foundational Skills Course include: Emotional Self-Awareness, Focus, Emotional Self-Control, Positive Outlook, Adaptability, and Empathy.

The EI skills included in the Relational Skills Course include: Conflict Management, Teamwork, Inspirational Leadership, Coach and Mentor, Influence, and Organizational Awareness.

Whether you’re an Emotional Intelligence Coach or Consultant, Business Leader, People Manager, HR professional, or someone interested in growing your EI, completing these courses are for you.

And to show you have completed them, you will earn a certified digital EI achievement badge for your resume.

The key skills include:

  • Develop one of the most in-demand and highly valued job skills
  • Master the underlying abilities that make stellar leaders
  • Make better decisions to boost business outcomes
  • Achieve greater self-awareness, self-worth, and values alignment
  • Build positive relationships and meaningful connections
  • Improve overall well-being with less stress, enhanced empathy, and effective conflict resolution

?Although developing EI happens one person at a time — it starts with you and me — our growth can be felt by all of the people in our life.

Our friends, family, and colleagues all benefit when we embody emotional intelligence.

I've spoken at great lengths about Emotional Intelligence in leadership. EI is not defined as you being the shoulder to cry on during difficult performance challenges. However, it requires you to tune your professional thoughts and feelings for those under your guidance to their environment and view it through their eyes. Creating a synergic intelligence connection that produces a higher output due to comfortability with leadership.
