Extension for the #2023TPM Call for Papers!

PTRC is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 21st Annual Transport Practitioners’ Meeting has been extended by two weeks!

The Transport Practitioners’ Meeting (TPM) is a unique opportunity for transport professionals to engage with each other and inspire the profession. For over 20 years, we have brought together transport practitioners to be empowered to make transport a force for good. The world today faces unprecedented transport, logistics and planning challenges, making the conference an even more invaluable space to debate, share and engage.?TPM provides a home for the profession, an arena to find common solutions, to ensure that transportation managers are ready to build a world that is better than before.

The conference is specifically designed to meet the needs of a busy practitioner who wants to expand their knowledge and skills. Practitioners, policy makers and academics at various points in their career will present numerous, topical papers over the course of the two days, enabling lively debates, networking and the dissemination of the latest thinking across the profession.

Presenting a paper at TPM is an excellent opportunity to raise both your personal, as well as your company’s profile in connection with a specific topic. All delegates benefit from a range of networking opportunities. Graduates will rub shoulders with Directors who in turn will be able to chat to the decision makers in Local Government. Most importantly, TPM is a fun and relaxed environment where practitioners can discuss latest trends, disseminate ideas and develop new projects.

The conference is split into a series of parallel streams, with papers chosen by our expert Abstract Committee. Speakers are advised to allow 20 minutes to present their paper and 10 minutes for discussion with the audience; a chairperson ensures that speakers remain within their allotted 30 minutes. This format allows delegates the freedom to explore a wide range of topics and papers

What topics are people interested in? Recognising that something you’ve worked on, be it delivery of a tricky project, development of a new way of doing something, a piece of research or even a critique of the status quo, is of interest to fellow practitioners, is the first step. This conference is all about sharing knowledge, and with the audience coming from across the full spectrum of transport activities, plenty of topics will interest other delegates.

We encourage participation from all levels of practitioner and the event offers an excellent opportunity for those within the industry to discuss thoughts and ideas with peers.?With an audience from a wide variety of transport fields, a vast array of topics will be of interest to other delegates.

You can find information on the call for papers at www.transportconference.co.uk. I would be grateful if you would circulate this information amongst your colleagues, especially encouraging young practitioners to participate (there is even a prize for the best paper by a new practitioner!)

We had a incredible get-back together last June. Looking forward to seeing everyone this June. Don't forget to come as delegates and better still show off your project experiences.
