Announcement: Silicon Valley’s Section School and BSI Learning launches AI Academy in Australia

AI is revolutionising the way Australians do business, with leaders striving to stay ahead of the curve. A recent McKinsey report projects global AI investment to exceed $500 billion annually by 2025, highlighting the urgency for businesses to embrace AI-driven innovation.

As companies accelerate digital transformation efforts and prioritise AI-driven innovation, the reality of the skills gap in Australian companies is sinking in. In order to drive innovation and drive efficiency, baseline capabilities relating to AI must first be developed, and businesses are realising the skills gap is widening as the technology evolves and becomes central to business and personal productivity.

Thanks to BSI Digital Learning 's new partnership with Section school, Australian teams will now have the opportunity to become confident in understanding and working with AI to build baseline skills, and also upskilling in niche sectors and roles, including finance, sales, marketing and project management to name a few.

For early adopters, AI is already playing a transformative role creating new efficiencies, innovations and supporting more strategic and data-driven decision-making. AI experimentation and pilot projects are currently underway in most sectors, as companies search for ways capitalise on the technology. It is therefore critical for business leaders to understand AI in various sectors to remain at the forefront of their industry.

Tony Surtees one of Australia’s foremost digital entrepreneurs, and key supporter of the Section and BSI collaboration, likened the AI race to that of computer skills in the 80s and 90s.

“If you didn't want to learn computers in the 80s or 90s, it meant eventually you weren't as skilled as the person next to you who learned Microsoft Office.”

Unlike traditional academic courses, BSI Learning x Section School's new solutions focus on practical, blended and digital approaches, that enable busy professionals to access both live, and on-demand forms of learning... without losing the human touch necessary to support the embedding of new skills.

Section's facilitators are from organisations at the cutting edge of AI technology and its business applications, including giants like Google, Meta, Apple and Amazon. These experts use AI daily to optimise and innovate in business.

According to Section School’s CEO, Greg Shove :

“AI will not take your job – but someone that understands how to use AI better than you just might.”

For those starting out with AI, the AI Crash Course is a perfect start, requiring an hour or so learning a day for five days. The course introduces participants to AI. It includes video learning, live workshops, in-depth coursework, hands-on activities, and robust support tools so that participants can start to apply their AI skills immediately to improve productivity.

The focus on personal productivity, helps people answer the "What's in it for me" in relation to AI, and includes leveraging AI to manage your workflow and identify areas where AI can assist you to save time. Used effectively, AI will also free up professionals time to focus their energy on what is really important.

To keep up with the latest developments, we are also launching the AI Academy, which is a platform with a growing number of AI courses for entry level, manager and executive roles, with all courses updated every 30 days. The AI Academy exposes you to the latest in AI thinking, training, and support tools to build your AI literacy, capability, and more targeted skills for specialist roles and functions. It includes an evolving platform of AI-based courses to access live or on-demand and dedicated and experienced AI experts provide feedback on AI project ideas, supporting learning and tailoring tutorials to address specific learning needs.

We're really excited to announce, that the AI Crash course and AI Academy launches tomorrow. Visit https://bsidigital.com.au/ai/ to enquire and enrol, with special offers and discounts for the next 30 days.

With many thanks to our partners Section Greg Shove Tony Surtees for all of the support and work to bring this important partnership to life, as well as Naomi Waldron Neil Kulkarni Alana Saphin for their hard work.

I think so many Australian organisations are currently floundering and trying to figure out their approaches to AI alone, and those early adopters are not being adequately supported to be able to actually drive AI innovation. This is such a great opportunity for Australian businesses to be able to learn from the global leaders in AI, and provide much-needed support to their staff in this area.
