To all our wonderful #AgileonthebeachNZ friends both local and abroad we want to bring you up to speed with our plans for AOTBnz 2021/2022.
#COVID19Disruption
As you can appreciate, COVID19 continues to be a disruption around the world and has introduced a high degree of uncertainty and risk for gatherings like ours. The effects are being felt everywhere including the hotel venue we had secured for AOTBnz 2021 which has been forced to close down earlier this year.
#DifficultDecision
Our team has been working through the possibilities of how we might host this event and we’ve reached a difficult decision. In light of current events and the continued disruptions, we will be deferring AOTBnz to 2022. If all goes well, our team will reconvene in April/May next year to begin preparing for AOTBnz 2022 so keep a lookout for more updates on our website and facebook page.
#Agile20Reflect
We know this will leave a gap in our community diary for Summer so we’re cooking something up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Agile Manifesto (#Agile20Reflect). Our cofounder, David Morris, has been nominated as the Aotearoa/NZ ambassador for the celebrations and all the major Agile event organising teams around the country will be participating.
#ArohaNui
Please look out for updates on our facebook page and let your friends know about our awesome little community: https://www.facebook.com/agileonthebeachnz.
As always, we value comments and feedback and we encourage you to continue to be strong and be kind through these trying times.
Kia kaha, kia atawhai! (Be strong, be kind)
