You can trek the Annapurna Circuit with a Group or Solo
One can either trek with a Guide or Solo and most trekkers are confused about whether to go on with an organized group or go alone.?
Trekking Annapurna Circuit with Group
when you are hiking with a group, you're hiking with a team of local guides and porters who will guide you throughout the trek and carry all your heavy stuff as well.
The Pros of Trekking in a Group are that: Everything (including the teahouse, meals and accommodation, permits, etc) is organized for you by the trekking company. You don't need to carry your heavy backpack either. You just need to carry a light daypack and walk along the path of Guide.?
The cons of trekking in a Group is that it can be more expensive than going it alone. You need to follow your Guide throughout the trek.
Trekking the Annapurna Circuit Solo
It's not rare to see people trekking solo in the Annapurna Circuit by themselves, or hiking together in small groups.
The Annapurna Circuit trek is also one of Nepal's more popular routes, you'll find a lot of trekkers on the route map following a similar path, so you won't feel alone during the walk and the teahouses are gonna be packed as you can buddy up and have some good time and walk together the next day.
The Pros of Trekking solo are: You have the freedom of everything without having to account for a group. It is a lot cheaper than booking through a tour company. Solo trekking during the day though there will be a lot of trekkers on the way and a group atmosphere at the teahouses at night.
The Cons: You're responsible for carrying all your gear, finding teahouses, and managing meals, and accommodations. You might not get any rooms during the best season when the teahouses are booked a week before by travel companies. You will feel tired due to the backpack you carried the whole day.?
You are unaware of the potentially dangerous areas on the trek. Some places may be prone to landslides, some may face AMS and be unknown about the signs and symptoms. That might be dangerous!!?
Take only what you need in Annapurna Semi Circuit Trek
Annapurna Semi Circuit Trek is long, hard, and tough. Do not carry a heavy backpack behind carrying more clothes or accessories or unnecessary things. The backpack also determines how easy or hard your trek is gonna be especially if you are trekking without Porter. Porters are superhuman and carry all your stuff throughout the trek with ease. But they are also human and might get injured too. So, help them out by strictly bringing only what you need or let's say the most mandatory things you gonna need.
Accommodation on Annapurna Semi Circuit Trek
The Accommodation on the trek is more than decent. As you ascend each day the accommodation gets basic due to the remote area and no real means of transportation.?
Guesthouses and teahouses are available throughout the trek, starting from Besisahar all the way to Jomsom. They're generally made of rock and wood and provide a good and warm stay at the end of the day.
Rooms at each teahouse are generally twin shared or with large group sharing with enough space to spread out. But don't expect it to be too cozy as the five-star stay has modern toilets. Most tea houses include only the prices of meals and hot water you eat during the stay as they take very less room charge. The accommodation is basic and common in the upper region Dal, Bhat, and tarkari are what you get for dinner. Garlic Soup is most common as it is known to avoid AMS and other items like roti and bakery items are rarely available depending upon the teahouses.?
So, expect accommodation to be basic as you trek and gain altitude each day.
