Ankle Sprain? Here's What You Need to Know about sprain and how to manage sprain.
Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries I see as a physiotherapist, whether it’s athletes, weekend warriors, or those with an active lifestyle. But the good news is that with the right care, recovery is achievable and treatable.
Here’s what we can do to manage ankle sprain.
Immediate care: R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) in the early stages can reduce swelling and pain.
Rehabilitation is key: Strengthening and mobility exercises tailored to the individual will promote healing and prevent future sprains.
Balance and proprioception: Re-training the ankle’s stability is crucial in preventing recurrent injuries.
Don’t rush: Proper recovery takes time. Jumping back into activity too soon can lead to complications.
If you've experienced an ankle sprain or want to prevent one, physiotherapy can help you get back on your feet safely and confidently. Let’s work together to stay injury-free.
