Animal Pride
Lion roared and bared his teeth.
Grizzly stood tall, matching his beat.
Teddy opened his arm out wide,
Just wanting a hug, he had nothing to hide.
Lion and Grizzly were out for a fight.
Each of them full of so much pride.
Do they not know that I love them, each?
For their own different ways.
For they are both unique.
Both of them stole a piece of my heart.
Each of them special,
Their own work of art.
I hug my Teddy and kiss the top of his head.
I hug my Grizzly burying my face in his chest.
My Lion I approach with a loving touch.
I stroke his mane, I know not to rush.
Lion needs time to simmer down,
He can’t be rushed,
His patience can’t be bound.
For Lion knows not, he need not roar.
I simply don’t know how to walk out that door.?
