Only veterinarians accredited by the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV) can prescribe these drugs, ensuring safety in the process. The regulatory process now moves to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), responsible for authorizing and marketing veterinary products in Brazil. The initiative was welcomed by the CFMV, which, through a working group, presented studies and evidence on the benefits of cannabinoids in animal health.
