Summit of Ibero-American equine veterinary associations in Brazil: The Brazilian city of Campinas in the state of S?o Paulo has hosted the 5th summit of the Ibero-American Federation of Equine Veterinary Associations (FIAVE). On June 30, the Rondon Saude Animal Equine Veterinary Hospital, one of the most modern equine hospital centers in South America, located in the Brazilian city of Campinas in the state of S?o Paulo, held the 5th summit of the Ibero-American Federation of Associations of Equine Veterinarians (FIAVE), with the presence of the delegates of the equine veterinary associations of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Panama, Uruguay and Paraguay, and the entry by videoconference of Ecuador, Mexico and Portugal. Syngene International signs 10-year agreement with US-based firm Zoetis: Librela or bedinvetmab has already been launched in Europe and the UK, and has won 'Best new companion animal product' by IHS Markit Connect in 2021. Biocon arm Syngene International has signed a 10-year agreement to manufacture the drug substance for Librela, a monoclonal antibody used to treat osteoarthritis in dogs, with US-based animal health company Zoetis. ?? Dechra Veterinary Products announced it has acquired Zimeta (dipyrone injection) from Elanco Animal Health. Dechra has been distributing Zimeta in the US since January 2021, and veterinarians will not experience any change in how they order the product. Financial terms were not disclosed. (company press release). In addition Dechra Pharmaceuticals announced it has launched a private placement of EUR 50.0 million seven-year and EUR 100.0 million ten-year new senior unsecured notes. ?? In the last week (07/11) the finalists of the Troféu Agroleite 2022, indicated by popular vote, were announced. Among the companies that are competing in the Saúde Animal category is JA Saúde Animal. The winners will be announced on August 17, in the Memorial da Imigra??o Holandesa, in Castro (PR), in a ceremony known as the “Oscar do Leite”. The award will be broadcast live by the Terra Viva Channel, from Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunica??o and will include the participation of personalities from the agribusiness. ?? SPAIN VetPartners announced that Spain-based Alianza Petsalud, which has 21 small animal practices, as well as the Vetersalud business, has joined the veterinary practice group. ?? Derek Baucom has joined Simmons Foods' petfood segment as senior vice president of pet food operations. According to Simmons Pet Food, the appointment comes during a period of transformational growth. Prior to Simmons Pet Food, Baucom served as vice president of operations at Tyson Foods. He has more than 25 years of experience in operational leadership, focusing on safety, efficiency and innovation. Temperature is a fundamental indicator to know the state of health of pets and taking temperature is a necessary action in daily clinical practice. Currently, it is usually done rectally with digital thermometers, which is a stressful moment for the pet and, of course, for the families. The reading of the temperature and the identification number are carried out simultaneously and at the same time thanks to the SureSense reader. It is a universal reader compatible with all microchips including FDX-A, FDX-B, Trovan and AVID encrypted microchips. Virbac continues to increase its footprint in the livestock market, launching TENOTRYL (enrofloxacin) injectable solution for use in cattle and swine.
