?? The FDA is cautioning pet owners that have purchased Darwin’s Natural Pet Products raw cat and dog food to not feed the food to their pets if they are under a certain lot number. The food, made by Arrow Reliance Inc, tested positive for?Salmonella?after the FDA tested samples. ?? FDA have approved afoxolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets (NexGard?PLUS; 勃林格殷格翰 ) for canine protection from fleas, ticks, heartworm disease, roundworms, and hookworms. These monthly soft chews combine internal and external parasite protection with beef flavoring to help promote adherence, according to Boehringer Ingelheim. According to BI, clinical studies have demonstrated that afoxolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets are safe and effective for dogs, against these parasitic threats. ?? EU??Mars Incorporated?announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of?SYNLAB Vet, a European provider of specialist veterinary laboratory diagnostics, from SYNLAB Group. ?? France will receive up to 80 million doses from 勃林格殷格翰 for its avian influenza vaccination campaign planned for October. France has chosen Boehringer Ingelheim to vaccinate ducks in the autumn. The highly anticipated vaccination campaign for farmers is set to begin in October, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, for a period of six months. Each duck will receive two doses. The avian influenza virus epidemic, which has been prevalent in America, Europe, and Asia, has led to the euthanasia of tens of millions of poultry in France in recent years. (lefigaro.fr, July).

Senvelgo is a once-daily liquid oral solution that cat owners can give with a small amount of food or directly into the cat’s mouth. The drug can be admistered by pet parents in their cat’s food or directly in the cat’s mouth. Senvelgo will be available in veterinary clinics in the U.S. by mid-October.?(company press release).

?? A challenging first half for Elanco , although the projections for the second half of 2023 are positive, as detailed in the results report published on Monday, August 7th. According to the document, from January to June, the multi headquartered in Greenfield, Indiana, United States, saw a decline in its revenues of -4%. During this period, it generated a total revenue of $2.314 billion. The Pets division experienced the most significant drop, with a -5% decrease, totaling $1.193 billion in the first half. Meanwhile, the Farm Animals division recorded a -2% decline, amounting to $1.100 billion. Breaking down this portfolio, their Cattle Livestock line experienced a -7% decline. The Aquaculture segment continues to perform positively during this period, as it did in 2022, with a 6% increase. ?? Zoetis Announces Second Quarter 2023 Results: The company reported revenue of $2.2 billion for the second quarter of 2023, an increase of 6% compared with the second quarter of 2022. On an operational1 basis, revenue for the second quarter of 2023 increased 9% compared with the second quarter of 2022, excluding the impact of foreign currency. ?? MSD Animal Health Appoints New CEO: Last May, Brazilian executive Tiago Arantes left his position as the head of MSD Animal Health for Argentina and Chile. He moved up the organizational ladder to take on a global role within the company as Associate VP for Animal Production. In his place, the American company appointed fellow countryman Fabiano Hideto Ikejiri , who assumed his role remotely in July and has now arrived in the country to take the reins in person. Autogenous vaccines are personalized and utilize antigens derived from the farm's own population to stimulate a specific immune response against a particular disease. In practice, pathogens isolated from an affected animal on a farm are used to formulate vaccines that will be administered to the entire herd. Prior to joining Chanelle in 2019, Abi, who lives in Gloucestershire, UK, completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and held senior roles in other animal health companies, including Zoetis and Ceva. Boehringer's adjusted net sales increased by 9.7%, thanks in part to the strong performance of NexGard in Animal Health, reaching 12.2 billion euros due to high demand for medications during the first six months of 2023. This was driven by robust growth in Jardiance? in the Human Health sector and NexGard? in Animal Health. In terms of Animal Health, there was growth in both Companion Animals and Production Animals, with a 3.8% increase (adjusted for currency fluctuations), bringing the total sales to 2.5 billion euros in the first ?half of the year. This facilitates the receipt of merchandise from distant locations while expediting the delivery of orders across the country.
