Angry
“Is it right for you to be angry?” - Jonah 4:4.
The Bible never says not to be angry because anger is a natural human emotion. It does, however, advise you to control and deal with your anger, allowing it to motivate you to correct and not sinful action. In this context, Jonah was angry because the Lord had dissolved a vine that was giving Jonah shade. Yet the Lord owned the vine, so to speak, and could do with it whatever He wished, so Jonah's anger was inappropriate. Are you angry over something over which you have no right to be upset? Are you angry over something over some legitimate issue, such as an injustice or insult? How long have you been carrying this anger? Isn't it time to confront it? Read Ecclesiastes 7:9 and then determine to follow its advice.
