Anglian Supporting T Levels and Local Talent

We are committed to identifying and nurturing the next generation of skilled talent. In a recent collaboration with Norwich City College, Michelle, Senior Recruitment Partner, delivered an engaging presentation on how we can assist T Level students with work placements during their studies and provide employment opportunities upon graduation.

This initiative builds on the momentum of our Learning, Development & Apprenticeships Manager Martin Morrell previous visit to City College, where they gained firsthand insights into how T Levels are being implemented. The visit highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between businesses and education providers to ensure students receive the skills and experience they need for future success.

Key Takeaways from Michelle’s Visit:

  • Positive Student Engagement: Students expressed feeling motivated and well-prepared thanks to the combination of classroom learning and industry experience.
  • Student Enthusiasm: Over 20 students have signed up for a factory tour with us and expressed initial interest in exploring our work placement opportunities.
  • Opportunities for Collaboration: Discussions emphasised ways to expand employer participation and further enhance the programs and our success.

Anglian’s Contribution to T Levels:

Michelle’s presentation at Norwich City College reinforced our commitment to supporting T Level students by:

  1. Providing Meaningful Work Placements: Offering hands-on experience to help students apply their technical knowledge in a real-world setting.
  2. Building Employment Pathways: Creating opportunities for students to transition seamlessly into roles within Anglian after graduation.
  3. Strengthening Local Partnerships: Collaborating with colleges to foster education-to-employment pipelines that benefit both students and businesses.

Anglian Home Improvements has been highly proactive in engaging with T Level students at City College Norwich. Representatives Martin Morrell and Michelle Dunger have visited the college multiple times to present to Engineering T Level students and discuss potential opportunities. Looking ahead, we have arranged a tour of the Anglian factory and offices to give students a deeper insight into the industry. We plan to have an engineering student complete their T Level work placement at the company and are exploring the possibility of degree apprenticeships for graduates. Furthermore, we are looking into expanding T Level placements beyond engineering to other areas of the business, including IT, HR, Finance, Marketing, Administration, and Building Services

Why This Matters:

By working closely with local colleges and actively participating in initiatives like T Levels, we’re not only addressing industry skill gaps but also positioning Anglian as a leader in talent development. This collaboration ensures we identify the best up-and-coming talent to grow our business while supporting the communities we serve.
