ANGER IS LIKE FIRE, WHEN KEPT UNDER CONTROL, IT BRINGS WARMTH AND COMFORT, BUT WHEN OUT OF CONTROL, IT DESTROYS EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH!

The passage, ‘A wise man [uses self-control and] holds it back’ (Proverbs 29:11 AMP), reminds those who, when someone refuses to do what they want, tend to say, ‘I am no longer talking to you’ that, while such behaviour may be acceptable for a child, but because we can express anger verbally or through silence, when used as a weapon to hurt others, we are resorting to emotional manipulation and indulging in childish immaturity which, is not acceptable for those who are called to be spiritually mature. In other words, because it is to one’s glory to overlook an offence, we should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. So let the knowledge that: 1) Anger is like fire, when kept under control, it brings warmth and comfort, but when out of control, it destroys everything in its path; 2) Human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires; and 3) We should be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, He forgave us; teach you, if you are given to frequent outbursts of temper, to ask Him to help you get your anger under control!FG. www.fgtalks.com
