Angela Rippon supports global ban of donkey skin trade

"It’s vital to protect these animals who do so much for people. You can’t have one without the other."

TV presenter and journalist, Angela Rippon, is standing by Brooke to call for a global ban of the donkey skin trade, three months on from the landmark Africa-wide ban.

Angela led a panel discussion at Saddlers’ Hall, London for the charity’s supporters on the skin trade, with Brooke leaders from East Africa, West Africa and Ethiopia on Friday 17 May 2024.

Brooke joins World Federation for Animals

The World Federation for Animals (WFA)?has expanded its membership to Brooke, to help recognise animal welfare as essential to sustainable development.??

Made up of more than 60 Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), WFA has enlisted Brooke to support its efforts to integrate animal welfare into international health, food, environment and trade.?

Brooke's CEO Chris Wainwright shared why this partnership is so meaningful to Brooke and it's mission to give working animals a life worth living, here.

International Day of Women in Diplomacy

The upcoming UN High Level Political Forum

Brooke will attend the much-anticipated annual UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), from 8-18 July in New York.

This will include a virtual side event with World Farmers Organization on climate disaster resilience, an in-person side event with ICWE on animals and disasters, and meetings with member states to lobby on the inclusion of working animals in the UN's resolution on disasters.
