Diageo Price Hike
The Vintners' Federation of Ireland (VFI) has criticised Diageo’s decision to increase the price of their draught products by 6% per pint (ex VAT), effective from February 3, 2025.
The federation said this price hike will force many publicans to pass on the increase to consumers, further impacting already struggling pubs and their customers.
“Publicans are being squeezed from every angle—rising energy costs, higher wages and government-imposed charges," said Pat Crotty, VFI CEO. "This latest price increase from Diageo adds yet another layer of financial pressure on pubs already struggling to keep their doors open."

€9bn Tourism Plan
Tourism Ireland has claimed that overseas tourism revenue can grow from €6.4 billion in 2023 to €9 billion by 2030, with the right strategic supports.
The organisation made the announcement as it launched details of its marketing strategy and plans to promote the island of Ireland overseas in 2025, at an event attended by over 500 tourism industry leaders from around the country.
"We’re ambitious to support growth for local businesses, economies and communities and our target is to grow overseas visitor spend to €9 billion by 2030," said Alice Mansergh, chief executive of Tourism Ireland.

Dublin City Centre
CBRE Ireland has confirmed the sale of One Westmoreland, Dublin 2, a six-storey building in Dublin City Centre with full planning permission for a 38-bedroom hotel.

The original guide price was €6 million and the property was sold to a private buyer.
“This superb opportunity was sold to a private investor who recognised the great potential that the prime property offers," said Paul Collins, head of CBRE Hotels Ireland.
"There was significant interest in One Westmoreland Street due to the ability to create and operate a high-profile hotel in this stunning Temple Bar location.”
