Andrea's will be the reason we survive

Yesterday I was emailing a friend @andreamathews Southwest Airlines about a project we're working on when I signed off with a "I hope you're hanging in there!".

Andrea responded:

"Everything is fast and furious, which is the way we like it!"

Talk about the Warrior Spirit - one of SWA's core values. There it is in full display. One casual response, that stuck with me all day yesterday. And spoke volumes in just 12 words.

If this country wants to see any airline make it - ideally all of them, Southwest Airlines is at the top of many of our lists. It's people like Andrea that have kept one of the most iconic, greatest American companies going for decades - and will continue to, with that kind of vim and vigor and positive attitude.

Not complaining that her days are long, everything's so much harder, having to do more with less, how very messy it all is right now etc. - and everything else any airline - or ANY employee would have every right to complain about right now.

She's in the arena. And wouldn't want to be anywhere else. And no doubt her Leaders are more thankful for that than she will ever know. Although, it's Southwest, so she knows it.

Here's to the Andrea's in our companies. And a huge thank you to mine, #erictrautmann, #ellenfreeman, #bennunan who are in the arena every day, fighting like hell alongside me since March, fast and furiously. Making sure we survive. And we will.
