The ancients knew a thing or two . . .
Seems we’ve been trying to get this BIM thing right for quite a while, as revealed by a recently discovered Roman inscription. There’s a translation further down the page for anyone who’s a bit rusty with their Latin grammar.

The English translation
This is an important government announcement. CAD is dead, long live BIM. BIM is great. BIM managers can earn good salaries and are influential in the industry. That’s totally true. The construction industry is optimistic about agreeing a single BIM standard throughout the Empire but not everyone is convinced – there’s a lot of confusion. Some countries can be hesitant about adopting Barbarian best practice such as BS1192. There is a lot of discussion within national committees but there is frustration at the lack of tangible progress, although not everyone is surprised by this. BIM Level 2 is actually quite difficult to achieve and BIM Level 3 is not yet practical, although some in the industry claim to be able to do it but they are scorned by their peers. What about BIM level 4 - goodness me! Field BIM is currently hard because of the need to engrave construction information onto heavy stone tablets; paper is better but it’s very expensive. Common data environments are very effective and common asset data standards simplify the collaboration process. However, many in the industry focus on their own needs rather than the needs of the whole project, and one has to question who benefits from that approach. BIM is dead, long live BIM. Hail Caesar.
In other news, a recently discovered Elizabethan manuscript reveals that Shakespeare expressed strong views about global energy policy and environmental sustainability.
Merry Christmas.
This is how Google translates the edict: The voice GHOST_THE. CAD dead, long live BI! BIM is marvelous. IN THE BI managers made, and the money grabber MOLTO Denier, and occupied a bigger dick. 8 年Seem that the translation made a minor error in the penultimate sentence of the penultimate paragraph. Shouldn't it read "CAD is dead, long live BIM. Hail Caesar."
