I recently went on anchor.fm, this great new app where you can start conversations with people all over the world by simply speaking into your phone. I started a conversation today about the biggest mistakes I’ve made in business and in life.
THE biggest, mistake I’ve made is that I didn’t go big enough, fast enough—in every aspect of my life, business, family, and community.
Most companies fail not because they stay on the offensive, but because they don’t properly prepare themselves for expansion and cannot dominate the sector.
The idea of constant, unwavering expansion is counter to what you are told to do to succeed and is even unpopular; however, it will separate you from the rest of the pack more than any other single activity.

The greatest regret of my life is that I initially set targets and goals based on what was realistic rather than on giant, radical thinking. “Big think” changes the world. It is what makes Facebook, Twitter, Google—or whatever’s coming next. Realistic thinking, small goals, and trivial dreams simply won’t provide you with any motivation—and they’ll land you smack dab in the middle, competing with the masses.
Dream big, go big, and then figure out how to go bigger than that! Read everything you can about great people and great companies’ accomplishments. Surround yourself with everything you can that inspires you to think big, act big, and reach your full potential.

Looking back, I realize that years ago I didn’t know I could dominate an industry, be a star of a space, and go all in on one sector. It was a big mistake. You must think big and go fast—this is a common theme that comes up when I interview the CEO’s, the big-hitters, the dominators on my shows Power Players, Confessions of an Entrepreneur and Network Marketing Moguls.
