By now, you know that I have retracted my article about the Kinetic Energy of Relativistic Particles.
What you might not know is that Kinetic Energy is not conserved, which goes together with Energy that is not conserved when you consider the interaction as seen in two reference frames.
For example, consider two Rockets traveling at 100 km/s. In our lab-frame, their kinetic energies add up, and Energy is always conserved.
What about the kinetic energy of each rocket as seen by the reference frame centered on the other rocket?
That will depend on whether the rockets are traveling in the same direction or in opposite directions, won't it?
What about the energy deposited under a collision?
The energy deposited will depend upon the work done by the impinging rocket on the receiving rocket. If the force of interaction depends upon the Absolute Velocity, the amount of work done will vary as the Absolute Velocity changes.
So, I might still be correct. It is just not worthwhile trying to push the most complex reasoning onto my editors.
The observed kinetic energy (on the thermal calorimeter of the Bertozzi's Experiment) is what I was trying to ascertain. For that, the ultimate word was this experiment:
In other words, it is possible that the Classical KE gives the Kinetic Energy of the Particle IN THE ABSOLUTE REFERENCE FRAME, and the observed energy delivered to the calorimeter is the relativistic KE.
I have other fish to fry, and this is a small issue. So, I moved on.
That said, I wanted to give you a sense of the depth of this subject. This is not a plain Energy Conservation problem. Energy is not conserved among inertial and non-inertial reference frames.
It is not a trivial problem.
Instead, I decided to dedicate my efforts to creating the presentation of the derivation of natural laws. That is my current project.
