Ana’s 2024 intentions: Investing in line with her values.

We asked our Co-Founder, Ana Morales , what her 2024 financial intentions were - take a read of Ana's holistic approach.

In 2024, I am focusing on aligning my investment with my personal values. As so many of us experience, time passes with increasing pace as does life. Becoming a mother and business founder, my priorities have shifted significantly from what they were 10 years ago. Consequently, this year I’m choosing a holistic approach to investment across various aspects of my life. These look like:

Time investment

A key intention for 2024 is to be more mindful of how I invest my time. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. To combat this, I want to allocate my time to activities that resonate with my values and things I enjoy!

Intellectual and emotional investment

I’ve learnt how important it is to nurture genuine connections and prioritise my well-being. Within an intellectual capacity, I’m setting the intention to continuously learn, something we often forget as we come into adulthood. I’m hoping to read as many books as possible (novels are my favourite) and seek expansive and insightful conversations. By investing in these aspects, my aim is to broaden my perspective, build my resilience, empathy and optimistic outlook.

Aligning financial investments with my values

Stepping into the new year, my financial intentions revolve around ethical and values-based investing. My aim is to align my financial portfolio with my moral and ethical principles. A key avenue to this is utilising sustainable and impact investing. I want to support companies and initiatives that prioritise environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.

On the other side of that, I intend to divert from industries that contradict my values. Instead, by supporting local businesses, I hope to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future with a community-led focus. This intention allows me to make a positive impact whilst securing my financial well-being.

Bertha, Michelle and I created The Beam Network to help the industry understand how to best serve women investors and provide women investors with the confidence to invest. Whether women are creators or inheritors of wealth, they tend to approach their wealth more holistically – looking at the most significant positive impact they can have in the world, from their investments to their philanthropy to how and when to use their voice.?
