The Anarchist’s Mobile Library - Libraries Week Showcase

Tessa Bide Productions created a show to empower children to be masters of their own destinies, to be inspired by literature and to change the stories they see unfolding around them.

‘The Anarchist’s Mobile Library’ took attendees on an incredible adventure that they chose, solving problems and meeting characters, all in a retro, pop-up caravan!

The interactive show toured around 7 libraries in Surrey in 2021, where 347 children and adults from different communities could explore 6 exciting worlds.

Feedback from those who attended:

  • ‘It was great fun, and the children really used their imagination. The people running the event were brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed it.’
  • ‘It was fun, interactive and the actors were good with children. It helped my son to think about storytelling. The small group size meant that it was tailored to our children’s abilities/ interests, and they felt special.’
  • ‘Fun fun fun! My children were so engaged and captivated - even my 12 year old. Such a fabulous way of getting children to use their imaginations.’

Feedback from Tessa Bide:

  • ‘We had a great level of support. It all went really smoothly from our end, you were a joy to work with!’
