• ANAND MATH, a debut film of the great Pradeep Kumar & legendry music director Hemant Kumar.

It is simply a 'kamaal movie story' written by none other than the best, Sh. Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, in 1882 and filmed in 1952 (unknown sources claimed that it was completed in 1947 itself). I must have seen this 'kamaal ki film' many times, but nothing has changed from day one, which must be 35 years+ back, and to this day, it gives me goosebumps (more precisely, khoon khol uthta hai aaj bhi). The impact of its great music was such that when I was listening to the singing of Ms. Shubha Mudgal in one of her Delhi concerts, I couldn't resist myself and started singing in the old style of the great Lata Mangeshkar. And people clapped like any thing. I am referring to the great song 'Vande Mataram'.

• The Vande Matram was written by Bankim Chanra Chatterjee, composed by voice of God, Sh. Hemant Kumar & sung by our Lata Mangeshkar. It was voted 2nd in the "World's Top Ten" songs of all-time.
