Analytics CoE in action in Pharma GCC

Global Capability Center (GCC)

Global capability center (GCC) is a techno-functional arm of multinational companies (MNC). MNCs have been ramping up their efforts to setup GCCs in India across the industry verticals, and Pharma is amongst a key focus area.

Post pandemic, GCCs have morphed into a resilient delivery model and powerful change agents owing to differentiated capabilities agnostic of location. Irrespective of economic cycles, GCC work in conjunction with enterprise core programs.

GCC in Pharma

GCC in Pharma is a full-service capability across R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Commercial domains. By virtue, GCC model also includes leadership team capable of making decisions across critical business processes.

Large pharma organizations have made significant progress towards this direction. These GCCs are increasingly becoming center of excellence for innovation and business transformation, elevating their role across the value chain.

Mid or small size pharma are also showing keen interest in scaling up to GCC, however the cost to build and operate outweigh the business case. There’s a significant capital investment and resources required.

Our industry proven contract research organization (CRO) model can play a significant role helping Pharma companies in the setup and operationalization of GCC with vast and diverse talent pool, secured workspaces, good infrastructure and connectivity, partnership with various universities and collaboration with startups.

Analytics in action

There’s a need to institutionalize "Analytics CoE (ACoE)" as part of GCC to accelerate business transformation journeys.

SAS analytics footprint comprise of industry as well as enterprise solutions which helps establish an analytics layer across industry sub-verticals – R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Commercialization.

Being a world leader in AI and Analytics, SAS platform can turn huge amounts of complex data into insights that customer can use. Apply the most advanced analytics, business intelligence, data management and AI solutions to address business challenges.

SAS analytics platform provides the ability for a domain SME, business analysts and data scientists to come together and work collaboratively to build and review analytical models across the pharma value chain (indicative list of use cases below). Helps in democratizing analytics and improving productivity.

?

Research & early development - disease state & target understanding, lead selection / optimization, clinical dose, endpoint selection

Development, regulatory & safety - protocol optimization, data adaptive development plans, trial planning and execution.

Manufacturing & supply chain - planning and forecasting, yield optimization, network optimization.

Market access, commercial, medical - field force effectiveness, commercial spend optimization, personalized engagement.

?

ACoE can help facilitate organization change management, by developing common set of standards and practices around data, tools, technology and talent; establishing data governance and stewardship; creating career progression pathway for analytics roles; develop and maintain a central repository of analytics tools, techniques, and model libraries; thus helping organizations -

  1. Move away from siloed analytics, business and IT functions to inter-disciplinary use cases team.
  2. Adopt agile use case sprints in analytics projects.
  3. Seed the culture of data driven decision making, by democratizing model build and insights process.?

As digital transformation is core to the differentiation and growth, GCC model provides MNCs to “own” these capabilities and institutionalize its enterprise ways of working in these centers thus proving to be its own extension.
