Google Analytics has recently announced several updates that will enhance the user experience for both marketers and website owners. Here are some of the latest updates:
Increased Number of Properties and Sub-Properties in an Account
Previously, the number of properties allowed in a Google Analytics account was limited to 100. However, Google has now increased this number to 2000, providing users with more flexibility in organizing properties.
Additionally, there is now a limit of 400 subproperties per property, and users can request an increase in this limit by contacting support. However, these requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Item-Scoped Custom Dimensions
Google Analytics now allows users to collect more information about items on their website or app beyond the predefined parameters.
Users can send item-scoped custom parameters to collect information about an item's color, size, product rating, and in-stock status.
Users can register up to 10 item-scoped custom parameters for standard properties and 25 for Analytics 360 properties as custom dimensions.

Custom Channel Groups
With the new update, users can create custom channel groups either from scratch or by using Google's default channel group as a starting point.
Users can edit the names of channels to fit their company preferences, adjust the criteria for any channel, and add or remove channels to enable broader or more specific views of their channel data.
User Access Management for Analytics Features in Google Ads
In the next few months, Google Analytics 4 audience builder will be embedded in Google Ads, simplifying audience creation and application for Google Ads campaigns.
To enable this feature, a new model for cross-product access management is being introduced for Google Ads.
This model enables a Google Analytics 4 property Admin to set explicit permissions for users in a linked Google Ads account.
The Google Analytics admin can assign roles to different permissions in Google Ads, determining access to Analytics features embedded into Google Ads, such as creating Analytics audiences from within Google Ads.
Overall, these updates aim to make Google Analytics more user-friendly and efficient for users.
