Analysis of Curtain Wall Facade and Space Aesthetics of High-rise Office Building
The standard facade of the tower adopts a unit curtain wall system, and the unit plates are composed of classic glass and metal columns. However, the strict limitation of glass reflectivity in citys leads to the use of low reflectivity glass in buildings, resulting in large areas of dark buildings in the city. We believe that this has a negative impact on the quality of urban environment. In order to avoid the lifeless and dull facade, bright white and silver metal decorative wings and horizontal lines are added to the tower, which meet the requirements of the code and light pollution test, so as to avoid causing light pollution to surrounding houses.
Efficiency is the core of this project. Although many office buildings adopt 1.2 meters or 1.5 meters wide curtain wall module, we do not stop at the routine. The tower adopts a wider panel of 1.8 meters, which is divided into 0.6 meters and 1.2 meters. The smaller side is enough for the opening window. At the same time, a wider viewing area of the glass panel is created within the scope allowed by the glass area to obtain a better panoramic view. All elements are efficiently integrated in a unit plate, and with fewer plates and fewer joints, faster and more efficient construction and more complete facade effect can be achieved.
We use parametric software to analyze the line of sight from indoor to external from different angles, and help to adjust the layout of columns and the alignment relationship with structural columns, so as to ensure the widest office vision.
Decorative wings and columns adopt interlocking and staggered contour modeling, which deepens the design language of the whole project into the detailed design. The modeling of curtain wall components with interlocking and dislocation can visually weaken the heavy sense of component size, and at the same time add details and overall level and rhythm to the whole facade.
The insertion joints of male and female mullions of conventional unit panel curtain wall system are in the middle position, and the mullions are wide and inflexible in the interior. In order to make the appearance of the inserted mullion slim, the architect designed an asymmetric step shape, and concealed the butt joint of the plate in the internal corner of the side of the mullion.
The airtight lines of beams and mullions move forward following the insertion position of mullions. Based on the female mullions with shallow cross-section, the protruding parts of the deeper male mullions protrude from the inside of the airtight lines. After checking the continuity of water-gas sealing line by 3D modeling, it is verified that the modeling has no effect on sealing performance, and only slightly increases the complexity of profile processing.
The width of the indoor window frame of the open fan is only 55mm. On the open side, the exterior decoration effect is the same as that of the windowless plate through the outdoor gusset plate, as shown in the following figure.

The floor beam position of the building uses white horizontal decorative strips to outline the floor position layer by layer and strengthen the horizontal design language of the whole building. Each horizontal decorative strip member spans two curtain wall unit plates, thus reducing the number of joints. The module at the corner is covered by a complete component, showing a clean, high-quality, solid and stable appearance. In order to ensure the surface flatness, the decorative strip adopts the structure of honeycomb board backing. At the same time, considering the rainy and dusty weather conditions in citys, the top of the horizontal member adopts the form of looking for a slope backwards, so that the rainwater can be discharged to the back of the decorative strip, so that the front white surface will not be dirty. All drainage is controlled in a simple vertical plane.
The curtain wall of this project adopts some design elements to improve the sustainability. The overhanging horizontal members effectively reduce the direct light entering the indoor space; Adequate natural lighting can reduce indoor lighting electricity consumption; Vertical decorative wings provide shading and reduce sun glare; The openable window provides fresh air indoors and improves the comfort of users; The high-performance glass used in curtain wall adopts advanced double silver low-E film and argon filling layer; The facade adopts low reflectivity glass to avoid unnecessary reflection on surrounding residential buildings; Finally, through thermal modeling, insulation and thermal break details are processed, so as to improve the overall performance of the building and meet the requirements of green building.
Through a variety of design strategies, we can realize the visual unity of the electromechanical layer curtain wall and the standard curtain wall. In order to skillfully integrate and hide the electromechanical louver openings of the three electromechanical floors and the refuge floor in a large area of standard curtain wall, so as to achieve the consistency of visual effect, the louver openings of the electromechanical floor are located in the same groove position as the openable windows of the standard floor, surrounding the whole building, instead of appearing in patches directly on the facade. At the same time, the glass panel at the ventilated place retreats, and openings are made on both sides for air flow to pass through, so that the reflection of the front of the glass can keep consistent with the curtain wall of a large area, ensuring the uniformity and integrity of the building surface and avoiding dark areas. There are static pressure boxes and electromechanical louvers made of weatherproof materials behind the glass louvers of the exterior decoration.
