Amplify July: The Phenomenal Founders Edition

Author: "Inclusion on Purpose" (2022, MIT Press) and "Uncompete" (Forthcoming, Penguin/Viking)
Welcome to Inclusion Is Leadership, a biweekly infusion of insights, research, and guidance to create inclusive workplaces. Created by Ruchika Tulshyan, inclusive leadership advisor, founder of Candour, author of Inclusion On Purpose, and creator of the LinkedIn Learning course: Moving DEI from Intention to Impact.
Welcome back to my fourth and final (for now) #AmplifyJuly newsletter! I’ve spent a long time looking forward to this campaign, and I can’t believe it’s coming to a close!?
I will carry the “lift as you climb” sentiment with me well beyond July. I’m so thrilled that my network has grown to include even more peers and professionals who share the same values as me. I've learned so much from all the amazing people we've featured AND all applicants in general. Lifting as we climb is a win-win for all.
This week, we’re highlighting a few people who have given their all to do something equally exciting and terrifying: founding a new company or organization! As an entrepreneur myself, I know firsthand how much of a risk it can be.
Note: Many Amplify July applicants identified as founders, but these four specifically highlighted their companies in their application.?
Nina Everflow (she/her) - Everflow Consulting
Nina Everflow is a creative digital learning expert, online course designer, inclusive facilitator & coach, and founder of Everflow Consulting. Her mission is “to help soulful course creators design inclusive and creative learning environments, so that together we can co-create a safer world for humans of all hues.”?
Nina provides creative learning journeys, results-based lessons, and development plans for consultants, speakers, and coaches.?
Nina’s emphasis is on strengthening your message, maximizing how you share it with others, and tracking measurable results, all while creating and maintaining inclusive learning environments.
Ruhee Meghani (she/her) - Allied Collective
Ruhee Meghani is a facilitator, public speaker, and founder of Allied Collective. Their purpose: “Empowering teams and organisations with accessible facilitation and wellbeing.”?
Allied Collective offers a wide array of services including cultural competency & humility consultation, inclusive leadership coaching & communication, company culture assessment & alignment, employee wellbeing programs, and so much more.?
Ruhee prioritizes human-centered design supported by a data-driven approach, ensuring each consultation and workshop is customized to every client’s unique needs and goals.??

Dr. Sally Ayesha Arif (she/her) - Equity-Minded Collective
Dr. Sally Ayesha Arif is a professor, clinical pharmacist, keynote speaker, and DEI facilitator and educator. Her company, the Equity-Minded Collective, was founded to cultivate equity and inclusion across healthcare and higher education.?
Their mission: “To foster a more equitable and just society by empowering healthcare educators and administrators with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to dismantle systemic barriers and promote inclusivity.”
The Equity-Minded Collective provides trainings for educators to build inclusive and equitable learning environments and support for healthcare systems, including trainings, workshops, and strategies for how to enhance their DEI programs and resources.?
Sara Farooqi (she/her) - Conscious Collectivist
Sara Farooqi is a facilitator, strategic operations & culture design practitioner, and founder of the Conscious Collectivist, which she launched “in response to my discontents as a US-based woman of color in the business sector.”
Sara came to the same realization that many women of color have shared: leadership development and self-help are so often rooted in a desire to assimilate historically excluded communities, not actually help them.?
Now, Sara facilitates her own conversations and workshops on topics such as unpacking the self-care industrial complex; debunking myths like “imposter syndrome,” “executive presence,” “purpose,” and “external validation;” and more.
