A $500M investment of General Motors into technology firm Lyft, This has created a whole new business which was never thought of, digital ecosystems putting thrust towards self-driving. One would have never thought of this partnership and thrust towards a total new digital ecosystem, and it is truly interesting to see GM pushing the digital envelope. Technology of today is making bygones for ecosystems that traditionally exist and marks digital macrocosm the “new” normal.
Today, IT is designing technologies that adapt on “how we behave as humans”, this is a new shift in the way one see’s customer experiences, this is a true syllable of artificial intelligence in play, which is richer learning, and more fulfilling both for consumers and IT. This is true design thinking and we are re-imagining the worker / consumer relationship, and brings in a lot of coherence which is between machines and minds, augmenting the data, learning, artificial intelligence and humans making it a perfect digital shift. AI of today is truly becoming the face of companies, look at Amazon Go, one would have not imagined shopping this way: No Lines, No Registers, and No Checkouts?
Its “just walk out technology”, the virtual cart is powered with technologies of today, computer vision, deep learning, analytics, and artificial intelligence. This again is truly synonymous towards being digital and fundamentally transforming the customer shopping experience, which was never imagined. Going a step beyond, what about having some analytics and purchase behavior analytics – way more than just groceries shopping, machines are learning and this data is crucial to learn the human purchase behavior, and this definitely is going to change the way inventory management, and supply chain works till today.
You definitely would have got awed by “Google Nose”, who would have thought a technology would start making us sense smell? Isn’t this truly amazing… It intersects the photons with infra sound waves, aligns molecules to emulate a particular scent. More and more from Google, such as Gmail Tap, two keys – are we really going back to Morse code (a dot and a dash), or charting a complete new future around speech technologies. With so much of data generating devices, internet of things, digital ecosystem collaboration enables machines to learn big data and deliver products such as Google Home.
The very fabric of innovation is around amplifying human potential, which is powered by software platforms, digital ecosystems, and I increasingly believe that we can amplify our capability to go beyond tomorrow, only should we start embracing the future with AI.
