Amphibian Vehicle joyrides for tourists in Goa

Goa has added an amazing attraction for tourist this Tuesday by launching a vessel that can run on both water and land. Laxmikant Parsekar, Chief Minister of Goa launched the vessels known as Duck Boats, which will be used for the joy rides or civilian purpose in India. The full-fledged joy rides will commence from November. This amphibian vehicle will allow tourists to get the experience of the rich hinterland of Goa. This amphibian vehicle will be operated by Amphibian Tours private Limited as it is manufactured and designed by Goa-based Amphibian Design Private Limited. This amphibious vehicle is assembled in collaboration with Advanced Amphibious Design Inc, which is a US company at Automobile Corporation Goa Limited, Honda. Two amphibious vehicles with the capacity of 32 seats will be commenced into service from November following which in a phased manner two more amphibian vehicles will be added to the fleet. The destination point for the tourists will be Panaji from where they will be picked up and taken on different routes. The circuit tour will start from Panaji to Dr. Salim Ali bird sanctuary and Old Goa during six-time slots.

Trip Charges and trial

For the trip of one hour, passengers will be charged Rs. 500 and this amount will later be increased to Rs. 750. Trail run of this amphibian vehicle was commenced early Tuesday morning on the Mandovi River and for this various ministers were picked from Paryatan Bhavan, which include Nilesh Cabrel, Chairman of (GDTC) Goa Tourism Development Corporation, tourism minister Dilip Parulekar and director of tourism Sanjeev Dessai.

According to Chief Minister of tourism, the launch of this service will give a boost to tourism in the state and will attract more high-end tourists. The launch of Duck boat service is something to be proud of, as these have been manufactured in Goa and operated by the Goa-based company too. It is a novel concept in India as it will act as an adventure service that will bring excitement and attract more tourists by tapping into their thrill seeking and curiosity instincts. These amphibian vehicles are designed using the design and methodology which is safe, cost effective, enjoyable and durable.
