Amici del Branco

It all started with a casual conversation with Chiara Deiana a few months ago.

I was looking for a local ONG to donate my 5x1000 (Italian technicalities on taxes!).

She recommended the association Amici del Branco (literally it means "pack's friends") and she put me in touch with them.

I recognize I am not an easy person, especially when it comes to charity, I always check what I am supporting, if the organization is reliable, and if it sticks to its words and does what it preaches.

We started talking, a dramatic phone call where I cried my heart out while listening to the sad stories of these unfortunate animals, that no one wants. I won't tell you anything of the sort today, this is only a thank-you note because I feel grateful and overwhelmed with happiness.

Silvia, the founder, was just great, strong, and determined. She did what she could with the support of a few volunteers. I was already impressed but then, I finally met her in person on the 21st of June 2024 when she brought 4 of her "patients" to Chia at Baia di Chia Resort Sardinia, Curio Collection by Hilton.

The first adoption day was smooth but we were aiming for a larger audience and participation so we moved the second appointment to the Hotel Village at night. Yesterday, Piazza degli Ulivi (the main square in Chia Laguna Resort) was crowded.

5 volunteers arrived with 2 dogs, both with legs' congenital malformations.

Our guests and colleagues have stopped by the whole evening, asking questions, making donations, and getting information and the association data for future use.

And today I want to tell you about the people who made yesterday night so special.

• Silvia Troncia, there are only a few people I respect in this world but you're undoubtedly one of them. I admire your strength and I am sorry that I so feel inadequate to do what you do daily but I'll do whatever I can to support you.
• Simona, Federica, Maurizio. You rock guys, you're not alone, we'll try to build up a net around your daily efforts to give a better future to these pets.
• Chiara Deiana you're a daily support, not only on special occasions. One million times thank you for all the things that you do.
• Martina Virdis the unmissable social support, always cheering us up, always available and keen to help. Thank you, my dear.
• Martina Caddeo, discrete but always present. Thank you for your kindness.

• Matteo Cugis , always sensitive to ESG activities.
• Jessica Manca one of our sweetest colleagues ever, always present when it comes to noble causes.

• Filippo Priola for immediately sending us your guys with the ladder to put back the little swallow in its nest!

• The 2 teenagers from Milan, willing to apply as volunteers at a distance! They were so cute and naive, so different from the masses, they stood out for their sensitivity and good manners, bombarding me with relevant questions, I so appreciated their attitude!
• Mrs Marcella always ready to support us with her big heart and proactivity.
• The Swiss family who made an important donation and all those who will do so in the next few days.
