I've often said that China has no homelessness problem to speak of. Yes, of course, China has homeless people, but they are relatively few in number. It's nothing like the situation in America and Canada and Britain where you can easily find homeless encampments in major urban centres. China does everything it can to help their poor. Western countries are unable to do much to help their poor. That's the difference.
There is no gentle way to fight a pandemic. Hard choices must be made. And China made them. The West didn't.
China's Zero Covid policy saved millions of lives. Did China's economy suffer? Absolutely, yes. But China prioritised saving human lives over preserving the economy. This was the moral thing to do.
The West, on the other hand, allowed millions of people to die so that their economies wouldn't crash. How did that work out? Their economies crashed anyway!
According to Johns Hopkins, America had 1,123,836 Covid deaths for a per capita death rate of 341.11 per 100,000 population.
China had 101,056 Covid deaths for a per capita death rate of 7.16 per 100,000 population.
America’s per capita Covid death rate was 47.64 times greater than China’s.
It’s worth noting that other advanced economies did not fare much better than America:
UK — 220,721 deaths, 325.13 per 100,000 population
Italy — 188,322 deaths, 311.47 per 100,000 population
Germany — 168,935 deaths, 203.16 per 100,000 population
France — 166,176 deaths, 254.68 per 100,000 population
Spain — 119,479 deaths, 255.54 per 100,000 population
Japan — 72,997 deaths, 57.72 per 100,000 population (8.06 times worse than China)
Canada — 51,720 deaths, 135.23 per 100,000 population (18.89 times worse than China)
They all performed far worse than China. It's obvious that the West made the wrong choice.

China gave Western businesses a quid pro quo for their technology IP. China did not twist their arms; they were free to walk away. Both sides benefited enormously. What is unfair about that???
The IP theft accusation is just sour grapes. China became strong and powerful, and the West doesn't like that.
The Chinese people enjoy as much freedom as Westerners do. There may be a few restrictions, but Westerners also have restrictions on their freedom, too. No country can have total 100 percent freedom because that would lead to social chaos.
Did you know that if you blow the whistle on the US government, you can be persecuted for life? Just ask Julian Assange and Edward Snowden.
Nobody has total freedom.
Many YouTubers do show the worst of USA because they want the American people to recognise what's wrong with America so that they will do something about it.
Why aren't they doing something about rampant homelessness?
Why aren't they doing something about rampant gun violence and mass shootings?
Why aren't they doing something about poor health care for millions of Americans?
Why aren't they doing something about declining education?
Why aren't they doing something about crumbling infrastructure?
Why aren't they doing something about opioid addiction and mass incarceration?
Why aren't they doing something about America's crushing national debt ($35 trillion and growing by $1 trillion every 100 days)?
China doesn't have any such problems. Chinese society is safe and harmonious.
But by all means, if you can show us the worst aspects of China, go right ahead. And I mean genuine grievances, not the fabricated made-up bullshit from Western propaganda.
