These are America’s best cities now

Every year, just before the Fourth of July, Resonance releases the world’s most trusted and cited ranking of American cities. Our ninth annual America’s Best Cities Report is our most ambitious yet, powered by a new partnership with global research firm Ipsos that incorporates perception-based data for the first time.

Our Best Cities rankings are lauded as the world’s most thorough and trusted, with Bloomberg calling it, “The most comprehensive study of its kind; it identifies cities that are most desirable for locals, visitors, and businesspeople alike, rather than simply looking at livability or tourism appeal.”

So why are our rankings cited by global media outlets and urban leaders across the country? Our unique methodology, which analyzes a wide range of factors that have demonstrated moderate-to-strong correlations with attracting prime age population (age 25 – 44), visitor expenditure, and/or business formation.

The result is an important, timely analysis of the urban regions that are leading the country in attracting talent, visitors and/or businesses.

Based on each city’s ranking across our 31 performance and perceptions metrics, these are America’s Best Cities for 2024:

1. New York, New York

2. Chicago, Illinois

3. Los Angeles, California

4. Miami, Florida

5. Las Vegas, Nevada

6. San Francisco, California

7. Boston, Massachusetts

8. Washington, D.C.

9. Seattle, Washington

10. Houston, Texas

PLACE STUDY

Creating a new language for luxury hospitality in Cabo

Oleada, a remarkable oceanfront resort in Baja California, sprawls across 860 pristine acres near Cabo San Lucas, enveloping three ecosystems, a stunning beachfront, and a mountaintop. Resonance was commissioned for the mammoth task of defining the property’s ambitions as a place of both raw natural energy and spectacular comforts. We meticulously analyzed the local real estate market, shaping a master plan that set Oleada apart from neighboring resorts, with a brand narrative celebrating “Untamed Luxury.” Last year, former World No. 1 Ernie Els was confirmed to design the 18-hole Oleada Golf Links Los Cabos.
