On September 23rd, American silicon-based anode battery company Amprius announced that it has secured two contracts to supply high-performance 40Ah batteries for light electric vehicle applications. The total contract value exceeds $20 million (approximately 140 million RMB). Amprius expects to begin shipments this year and to recognize revenue by mid-next year.
According to Electric China's tracking report, this month Amprius signed a non-binding letter of intent with a Fortune 500 OEM to develop high-energy SiCore cylindrical batteries for light electric vehicles. These batteries feature a silicon-based anode and are expected to have an energy density 25% higher than current lithium-ion batteries. The letter of intent indicates that both parties intend to sign a commercial supply agreement covering the next five years, with a supply scale of 2 GWh.
