According to Houzz.com, the renovation boom continues.?People are spending more.?Three years ago, they were spending $10,000 and now they are spending $15,000 or more.

Recent home buyers are spending even more due to aging housing stock.?This is particularly true in Miami.?Miami housing stock is old, much of it from the 1950’s and 60’s.?In my experience, people here are willing to spend $100,000 or more in taking down walls and opening up the kitchen and other living areas.?

Renovations of guest bathrooms, laundry rooms, living rooms, and guest bedrooms are also popular choices according to the Houzz survey.

35% of homeowners finance their projects with their credit cards while long-time homeowners are more likely to use secured home loans to finance the work.
