THE AMERICAN MEDIA AND THE DEEP STATE

During the 1960s and 70s, some of you are old enough to remember the names of television journalists such as Walter Cronkite, Tom Brokaw, and Edward R. Murrow.

For most Americans during that time, they were a reliable source of news. Although we later learned that these men tended to be liberal journalists, you were seldom aware of their leftist leanings. For the most part, they delivered unbiased news, untarnished by their personal views, but for those who paid close attention, they occasionally let the cat out of the bag revealing their views that tended to lean to the left.

Unfortunately, those days are long gone. ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN, all seem to have a left leg that is decidedly shorter than their right, and they are unapologetic about their left-leaning policies. In 1996 Fox News was created, and it leans to the right, serving as a counter-balance.

As a former broadcast journalist in radio during the 1970s in Florida, I welcomed news that did not have its finger on the scales of the news, but today that is no longer the case.

For what it's worth, I believe that most Americans know little about the Deep State, and are therefore ignorant of the dangers it poses. Unelected bureaucrats often seem to wield more power than those who have been elected in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, and the major news outlets have done a great job of keeping this from the American public because they are determined to protect the Deep State.

If the truth be told, there are many in the Deep State who have a serious disdain for the principles of our republic and the American way of life, and their only goal is to keep the Deep State in power and to keep it hidden from the American public. The Deep State hates our 1st Amendment rights of free speech almost as much as they hate our 2nd Amendment, assuring our right to keep and bear arms.

This is clearly revealed by their unbridled hatred of Donald Trump, who posed the greatest threat to the Deep State they have ever faced. When assassins attempted to take out Donald Trump, a secret, unpublished poll discovered that 30% of Democrats wished the assassins had been successful in killing him, such is the depth of their hatred.

In summary, the Deep State exists for the sole purpose of remaining in power, and due to its enormous influence, it is often successful in crushing any opposition it faces, especially views that lean to the right. It is a sinister, far-left force in America, and if it can't be stopped, we should do all we can to counter it with the truth.
