"American Graphic" a great new poetry work

This is a shoutout to artist and poet JoAnne McFarland. Her recent interactive work American Graphic received the 2023 Connecticut Society Experimental Poetry award. If you are skittish about 'digital' poetry- this is highly accessible and haunting. I was particularly blown away by the second poem which intersperses verses with graphics of original posters for Runaway Slaves. The reward amounts randomly increase and then just as inexplicably wind down, showing the futility of ever assessing a value on a human life. JoAnne McFarland
