-(Washington, DC DOE) The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) has issued a request for information (RFI) to gather feedback on the cost and value of acquiring, accessing, and sharing solar photovoltaic (PV) system performance data.
Easy access to high-quality information about the real-world performance of solar PV systems and their components would be highly beneficial for the PV research and development community. However, this type of data has typically been limited or difficult to obtain.?To overcome this challenge and increase access to high-quality, comprehensive PV system performance data, SETO is soliciting information and opinions from stakeholders to understand their needs regarding use, collection, and sharing of this data.
SETO requests feedback from all interested stakeholders in industry, academia, government, research laboratories, and more, including data owners, data users, and system owners, operators, and developers.
The goal of this RFI is to inform SETO activities relevant to PV system performance and related data to accelerate research, development, and deployment of solar energy.
-(Washington, DC White House Fact-Sheet Oct. 13, 2022) For decades, American presidents have promised to invest in infrastructure but did not deliver. President Biden brought together Democrats, Independents and Republicans to pass the most significant investment in infrastructure since the Eisenhower Administration. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is making a once-in-a-generation investment in America’s infrastructure and competitiveness that will create good-paying union jobs, grow our economy, invest in communities, combat climate change, promote domestic innovation and manufacturing, and help lower costs for American families.?In addition to better roads, bridges, ports and airports, cleaner water, and faster internet, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law also provided a historic down payment toward achieving the Administration’s climate agenda with funding for clean energy, a stronger electric grid, resilience in physical and natural systems, cleaner transportation, and cleaning up legacy pollution. Coupled with the Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS and Science Act, these federal resources present an unprecedented opportunity to build a better America. To learn more follow the link below:
