Covid-19 is a heart attack for the United States of America.
Think about it.
When people have a heart attack they make bold changes to their health because it was sudden and makes you feel helpless. Also around 14-15% of people don't come back from a heart attack so it's viewed as a 2nd chance.
Coronavirus is around 4% mortality when I wrote this. Economists project the virus sheds about 2% of GDP so for the US 21.4 trillion dollars GDP that's at least $428 billion dollars. That will take years to recoup unless fundamental parts of business are addressed.
Namely helping business and all of their employees - big and small.
According to JP Morgan, 88% of businesses in the US have 20 or less employees. 88%!!! That's why this pandemic hit the US so hard because these firms don't have the "nutrition" and "exercise" to deal with the heart attack called #COVID19.
Follow me.
The news showcased stories of large companies like T-Mobile and Coca-Cola making grand gestures to take care of their staff. They had a nutritionist and a trainer. While the corner bakery or local mechanic is still trying to figure out if he can stay open or not, to keep the bills paid. They're Googgling all of their health tips.......
This is a chance for us to get things right for small businesses! #KeepSmallStrong. These companies that keep us going don't look sexy like Walmart, but about half of all people work for a company with less than 500 people.
Let's help them as it helps us all.

4 年I like the last part best, 'have a plan, not a plea' however at this point, unless business owner are willing to PIVOT, they're too late for a plan right now. They need money and they need to keep their eyes open for new opportunities. Perhaps it won't look like what they've done before. Perhaps it's radically different. That can be exciting! Key point now when you've had a heart attack as you expressed is that you have to radically change sometimes. Out with the Doritos, in with the kale chips.
