America First?

If all countries were to adopt an America First political agenda - civilization would self-destruct within weeks.

America First is the very antithesis of loving our neighbour. To love our neighbour is not transactional. It exceeds transaction. Love is as free and as accessible as the air we breathe. And without love, like without air, we die.

Which is the reason I am writing you.

Dear America:

As a country who has repeatedly been helped through its turbulent history, thinking not only of 9/11 but on other occasions, by more nations than you can name or number - we ask that you return the favour freely because it is the right thing to do.

'Freely you have received, now freely give.' (Matthew 10:8)

We can only survive for as long as we care for one another. The moment we stop caring, life stops. Regardless of how rich we become.
