America at a Crossroads: Why I Believe Donald Trump Deserves Another Term

Whether you swing left or right, there is no denying today will expose the #UnitedStates for the “democracy” it is. Whichever candidate emerges victor, #Trump or #Harris, the world will recognize today as one of the most historical days in American politics; either for some good reasons, or a shameful display of its politician’s hypocrisy towards its supposed concern for the wellbeing of the American people.

Nonetheless, one thing is certain, the emergence of Donald Trump in 2016 as a presidential candidate brought American politics into a state of unprecedented polarization. Since then, the country has been sharply divided between liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans, with both factions being at loggerheads over every single social or political issue. So far, I have observed with keen interest how this current campaign season unfolds, the chasm between the two sides is wider than ever, feeding an atmosphere of intense political tension.

Before diving deeper, I want to make it clear where I stand on a critical issue: As Bassem Youssef said during one of his recent sit-down with #PierceMorgan, both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, despite their ideological differences, seem to be in a rush to become Israel’s obedient partners. Their positions against the people of Palestine are, to put it mildly, abhorrent. It’s a point often overlooked, as no one cares to point fingers as to why these so-called sworn adversaries are in firm agreement when it comes to unwavering support for Israel. This reality adds weight to suspicions about Israel’s significant influence over American governance—a theory that has fueled many debates but, admittedly, takes us away from the focus of this piece, so I will leave that dog be.

Back to the matter at hand: As an African observer impacted directly and indirectly by the #USdollar and governance, I am baffled by anyone who would still want to vote for the Democratic Party. Case in point, the dismal record of this administration, from its poor handling of the #southernbordercrisis, increase in gun violence, and even two assassination attempts on a presidential candidate #DonaldTrump. These failures have brought about a new American electorate unafraid of the liberal mechanism to speak their mind publicly as despite being labeled a racist by Democrats and it’s media allies, Trump now has an unprecedented level of backing from Black and Mexican communities—groups that were once considered firm Democratic allies. The shift in support is not just anecdotal; it’s visible, undeniable, and quite telling if one would only speak the truth.

This newfound support for Trump is almost as extraordinary as how Israel’s genocide in Gaza has led some to bizarrely humanize even Adolf Hitler not minding the narrow divide between Judaism and Zionism, the former of which suffered at the hands of Hitler's wrath, and the latter of which perpetuates genocidal acts against the people of palestine. Such comparisons, though undeniably extreme, reflect the desperation and disillusionment that emerge when leadership fails repeatedly.

As a journalist myself, I’ve always found it fascinating how the mainstream media, particularly those with progressive leanings, work tirelessly to vilify Trump. Calling him racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, and what have you, and the evidence for this for the most part is based on his rhetorics which has been constantly twisted and over-sensationalized to support these claims. Personally, I am a conservative my faith, nature and nurture so I have areas I find myself more aligned with the conservative party outside of its support for Isreal's genocide in Gaza. I find it inhumane and enabling and thus equally guilty of the crime. Yet, I support it's stands on abortion, the US border, and antagonising ghr transgender agenda especially as it relates to indoctrination of children into all that gender dysphoria.

Another thing I have found fascinating is the progressive media's continuously suggestion that #Trump's presidency, if elected, would spell the end of democracy for the American people, totally negating the fact that he has been president already, for four years, and America’s democracy seemed intact when he left. However, if we look closely, you'll find that it’s the Democrats and their adversely progressive agenda that has given fascist ideologies fertile ground to flourish in America’s political discourse. We see it on campuses across the country where free speech are trampled upon, and we have witnessed the #Cancelculture take root as an intimidation mechanism, mostly against conservative leaning discourse.

How is it that, with all the Democratic Party’s failings under the Biden-Harris administration, there are still loyal supporters among the common folks who are living through one of the most difficult times in recent American history? With soaring inflation, unemployment, a 20million plus illegal immigrants border crisis, and the declining state of living in America—how can anyone look at these glaring failures and still choose to defend this party? It sincerely boggles the mind. Although now that I think of it, perhaps I don’t have the moral inclination to share this concerns considering same questions could be directed towards my fellow countrymen. Well, maybe we're all hypocrites of some sort, what do I know?

Let us not get too deep into all the shortcomings of Kamala Harris and her colleagues, and yes I said Kamala and her colleagues because she is the presidential candidate for the democratic party. Try as she may to remove herself from the failures of #JoeBiden, She has served as vice president for four years, making it impossible to excuse her of these recorded failures especially with the immigration policies. I mean, its like vice president Shettima removing himself from the grievances levied against the #Tinubu administration, it makes no sense.

Coming down to why I think #Trump should win the 2024 #USelections, most people who have been against him, never seem to make it about his failures as a president but rather what he has said. I was watching an interview with #JordanPeterson, I don’t know if it was on #PierceMorgan or elsewhere, where he pointed out, and I’m paraphrasing, that many of Trump’s fiercest critics oppose him not often for his actions or policies but for his rhetorics and how they sound, which is often misquoted or distorted by progressive media, and that psychologically, it isn’t a sound way to measure someone’s competence. Personally, I find it astonishing that people would rather accept comforting lies, devoid of measurable success, than acknowledge tangible achievements from someone who simply doesn’t sugarcoat his words. How sad. Then again, is that not Nigeria as well?

The Democrats have said everything you want to hear, in the most politically correct terms, where has that led you to? Policy wise as they relate to the well-being of the American people? Or Socially wise as it relates to protecting women's privacy? When the latter is rather a weak point, after all, the democratic party will tell you we don't even know what a woman is, and if we don't know what she is, how then can we define the parameters of her privacy?

Honestly, if I were American and had the opportunity to vote, I’d choose #Trump—not because I find the man to be some perfect specimen for democratic posterity, he is flawed in many ways, aren’t we all? No! It will be because, at the very least, his presidency might bring some sense of finality to raging global conflicts like the Russia/Ukraine, China/Taiwan, and Palestine/Israel crisis. Whether these solutions are decisive losses or mutually beneficial compromises, they’d be solutions nonetheless, potentially sparing the world from the brink of a third world war—a possibility the Democrats and liberals seem to flirt with dangerously.

With that the polarization and counter rhetorics, it is no surprise then that this #USelections has been marked by irregularities, from ballot box fires to other suspicious activities. It begs one to wonder, is the “great” Democratic Party perhaps taking cues from some of our African leaders on how to handle elections they will likely loose? Although this statement would suggest the Democrats are somehow behind these fires, but that can’t be true, they've only lost support of their core minority demographics around the country. That shouldn’t be enough to influence the Dems to stoop so low to engage in such “barbaric” disruptions as is commonly reported for African politics. I doubt it, however, we are watching with amused interest

By the end of today, I hope to hear news of Donald Trump’s victory. And with that victory, I hope for positive changes for the American people and the world at large.
