AMD Versus Intel Security
Intel versus AMD CPU Security
The last few years security researchers have been looking closely at the speculative execution engine that's one of the key performance-boosting features behind all modern chips. They uncovered an onslaught of new vulnerabilities that threaten the safety of your system and private data. These types of vulnerabilities are undetectable and thus extremely dangerous. The hacker’s uses tactics to steal data by using the processor exactly as it was designed. Currently these are re undetectable by any known anti-virus program.
Intel currently has 242 publicly disclosed vulnerabilities, while AMD has only 16. That's means Intel chips are over 15X more vulnerable. Attackers almost always focus on the most bang for their buck and thus will concentrate on the Intel platform. This used to also be true on the desktop side with apple benefit in, but that has dramatically changed and Apple Macs are just as hacked today as their counterparts in the Microsoft world.
So Which Processor is Best?
AMD's current series with PCI 4.0 is far faster than the Intel Side. If you are a gamer the highest end Intel still has a tiny edge, only a few percentage points, but you will pay for it and to the average person you will never see the benefit. Intel is still stuck 5 years in the past with their 14nm technology while AMD is on the 7nm side, giving the AMD processors more cores and significantly fast processing with less heat produced than Intel.
Intel has begun to fight the AMD onslaught by adding features and CPU cores across its products, but this process has resulted in many negative side effects, like greatly increased power consumption and the enemy of all computers heat generation that goes hand in hand with these feature inclusions from Intel.
This is food for thought and I am not saying one works better than the other, because today the operating systems no longer allow direct CPU access like the old days, so for me the obvious processor is an AMD. Simply more bang for the buck and it does the exact same thing.
